When you woke up on your first day of retirement, your first question probably was not “What am I going to wear today?” Experiencing the freedom of not having to wear a specific style of clothing or uniform can be exhilarating or confusing depending on your perspective. However after a few weeks of wearing “weekend clothes” you may want to try something a little different. That is how “RetirementChic” was born.

RetirementChic includes all the facets of what we love about fashion. It includes comfort and style that compliments your new lifestyle. And it incorporates many of the items that you already have in your closet. Those items just take on a whole new life of their own now too.

You get to decide when (or if) you want to experience RetirementChic. For example, if you are going to meet your friend for lunch, you could pull out a jacket and a scarf and wear it with your jeans. But if you are going to the grocery store and just finished working in your garden, maybe you don’t want to pull out that scarf. (However for me that is the time when I always run into someone I know).

Some individuals maybe saying, “I have worn a blazer for years and will never wear one again!” Good for you - you have the freedom to do it. Maybe your little homage to RetirmentChic is putting on a bright pair of sneakers or cat eye sunglasses. Do something every day of your retirement to make you happy - whether that be in fashion or playing with your grandchildren. You deserve it!
